Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. Our four cities are involved in the following Erasmus+ projects.

COP4HL - Groningen

The Knowledge Alliance for Communities of Practice for Healthy Lifestyle (COP4HL) develops and sustains local communities of practice to stimulate innovation and socio-economic development in the area of Healthy Ageing.

Giggin' Policy - Leeuwarden

In the Giggin’ Policy project, the Municipality of Leeuwarden cooperates over the course of three years with local governments and knowledge institutions in Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Finland. The project’s subject is the so-called ‘GIG-economy’, an economy in which freelancing and zero-hours contracts are commonplace.

Creative Ageing - Leeuwarden

The project "Creative Ageing - Cultural Engagement Instead of Social Isolation" deals strategically with the question of cultural participation opportunities for seniors. In particular, it focuses on those who struggle with health or financial barriers, who live in isolation, or who have had only little access to cultural education in their lives so far.
